First Aid Cover supplied a full medical staffing team for a march and rally in Hyde Park, Parliament Square and surrounding areas in London for over 150,000 attendees. We provided first aid responders, paramedics, nurses, and doctors across the footprint to ensure attendee safety across all components of the event and compliance with licensing requirements.
The Challenge
The organiser needed a highly coordinated medical staffing plan to cover a large crowd over a wide London footprint and to manage high footfall across stage areas in Hyde Park and Parliament Square. The solution had to satisfy strict NHS and council safety regulations while minimising disruption to attendee participation.
Our Approach
We carried out a detailed risk assessment and attended a number of planning meetings and tabletop exercises and constructed a detailed medical operational plan. We deployed over 40 staff positioned strategically across the route and stage areas. Teams included doctors, nurses, paramedics and first responders supported by team leaders for coordination. We supplied an emergency medical dispatcher and major incident officer to work along side London Ambulance Service and other agencies in event control. We integrated with stewarding, security, and emergency services to ensure seamless coverage throughout.
